You can get to Prescott from Phoenix and Tucson by taking Interstate 17 north out of town. Continue to travel north until you come to Cordes Junction, past Black Canyon City. Here you will take State Highway 69 west to Prescott, just past Prescott Valley. Prescott is 96 miles from Phoenix. If you are coming from Flagstaff, take Interstate 17 south to the 278 exit, right after Camp Verde. Then take State Highway 169 west to the town of Dewey and then continue on State Highway 69 into Prescott. Prescott is 90 miles from Flagstaff.Today Prescott's population is 30,387. The town sits at an elevation of 5,347 feet. The climate in Prescott is mild. Its summers are delightful, warm in the daytime and cool at night.
