Desert Ridge is a master-planned community that is located in Phoenix’s Northeast Valley. It was established in 1991 with the first homes being built and sold in 1996. Development progressed quickly with the community soon becoming the home of numerous businesses, healthcare facilities, and schools.

Today, Desert Ridge is part of the Paradise Valley Unified School District. It has four public schools to serve kindergarten through 12th-grade students. It also has the main shopping area, the Desert Ridge Marketplace, as well as a campus of the Mayo Clinic.

Much of the community’s more upscale amenities are found at its 36-hole championship golf course, called the Wildfire Golf Club. These include:

  • Fine dining establishments
  • A fitness club that offers classes like Pilates, yoga and core training
  • Bike rentals
  • Hiking and walking trails

The Wildfire Golf Club also offers a family escape that offers family-friendly relaxation in the sports lawn.

Members of the club also can rent out one of the club’s town cars or SUVs. They can use these vehicles for personal driving around the premises as well as nearby communities and neighborhoods.

Despite being an upscale master-planned community, Desert Ridge offers some of the more affordable homes for sale in the Phoenix area. Home prices here average around $381,000 or 204 per square foot. The homes here have appreciated in value by five percent in the last year and are expected to increase moderately throughout the next year as well.

The real estate market in Desert Ridge continues to experience the same in-demand popularity as other housing markets in the area. Homes in this community vary in style and size. Some of them have lush green lawns and shade trees while others have minimal landscaping with natural rocks and succulent plants.

The market here also consists of residences ranging from single-family homes to condominiums. There are also select undeveloped lots of land for sale. Most homes in the area have three bedrooms and two bathrooms. They also range in size from 1200 to 1500 square feet and have single or double car garages.

Condos in the Desert Ridge neighborhood sell for around $300,000 or less. They generally have two bedrooms and two bathrooms. They also have around 1200 square feet. Townhouses are priced less at around $250,000. They also have two bedrooms and bathrooms.
