Desert Mountain Ranch is a residential community that is located west of I-17 and next to the Phoenix Sonoran Reserve. It is known as the original Norterra neighborhood and encompasses Norterra Parkway. It is just off Dixileta Drive.

It is close to several major shopping centers as well as a number of public parks. It is also 30 miles north of the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

The community has two nearby elementary schools as well as a high school. The community is governed by a homeowners association and was established in 2001.

Desert Mountain Ranch homeowners enjoy access to a number of nearby amenities. They are close to several public parks that offer features like picnic areas, playgrounds, and basketball courts.

Because of its proximity to the Phoenix Sonoran Reserve, Desert Mountain Ranch residents also enjoy access to miles of hiking and biking trails. These trails are open throughout the year.

Desert Mountain Ranch is also close to major thoroughfares like I-17 that take them into downtown Phoenix. They are minutes away from major events like summertime farmer’s markets, concerts, and performances.

Because of its upscale appearance and location, Desert Mountain Ranch has higher than average home prices. The typical home in this community sells for around $320,000 or $188 per square foot. It stands in stark contrast to the overall average Phoenix home price of $269,000 or $169 per square foot.

Home prices here, much like elsewhere in the Greater Phoenix area, have risen significantly in the last few years. Real estate insiders note that prices have gone up by as much as four percent and are expected to continue to increase in price over the next few years. The real estate market here is considered to be one of the most in-demand in Phoenix.

The real estate market in Desert Mountain Ranch is made up of a combination of condos, single-family homes, and townhouses. Condos in this neighborhood are generally two to three bedrooms and have at least two bathrooms. They are as spacious as 1600 square feet.

Single-family homes for sale in this community are large and have as many as five bedrooms. They sit on 7000 acre lots and have as much as 3500 square feet inside. They also have two to three bathrooms and additional features like double car garages.
