Moon Valley is a residential neighborhood that lies in northern Phoenix. It was established in 1962 and has its own Moon Valley Country Club. Its eastern boundary touches Seventh Street while its western and northern borders span to Coral Gables Drive. Its southern border is made up of Thunderbird Road.
Moon Valley encompasses North Mountain, Shaw Butte Preserves and Lookout Mountain Preserve. It is northwest of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve.
The community has 29 individual neighborhoods and more than 1600 home sites. It is governed by a homeowners association to which residents pay annual dues.
Moon Valley has two high schools that serve students in the community as well as one middle school and several elementary schools. Part of it is within the Paradise Valley Unified School District.

Listing prices in Moon Valley have steadily increased in the last few years. Sale prices have held steady at the mid-$500s range. Home prices are expected to continue to hold, if not rise slightly, as more people move to the Greater Phoenix area and the demand for housing increases.
