Sunland Village is located on East Dolphin Avenue in Mesa in between East Broadway Road to the north, East Southern Avenue to the south, South Greenfield road to its west, and South Higley Road to the east. It is an age-restricted community, serving the 55 years of age and older home buying clientele. Construction on the first homes in Sunland Village began in 1990, with the last houses being built in 2000.

As a newer community, Sunland Village has over 2500 home sites, most of which are for single-family homes. However, there are also condominiums available in this age-restricted neighborhood.

The average home price in Sunland Village is $242,000, having risen by nine percent in the last year. The square foot price for a home here is $149, which is lower than the Phoenix average of $169 per square foot.

The home building company Farmsworth Homes built all of the homes in Sunland Village. They range in size from 1060 to 2060 square feet on average. They generally have two to three bedrooms and two to three bathrooms. Most have at least a one-car garage. However, most have double or three-car garages.

The homes in Sunland Village also have covered patios and balconies, front porches, and succulent landscaping. Inside, they have features like dens or family rooms, breakfast nooks, and guest suites.

Sunland Village residents pay an annual fee to their homeowner’s association. In exchange for their HOA fee, they get access to amenities like:

  • Two outdoor pools
  • A community clubhouse
  • A community library
  • A residents-only fitness center
  • A private golf course
  • Tennis and shuffleboard courts
  • Horseshoe pits
  • A barbecue area

There are also dozens of planned activities for residents. These activities revolve around popular hobbies like card playing, crocheting and knitting, golf, dancing, ceramic making, exercising, and dozens more.

Sunland Village wants residents to be active, fit, and engaged with the community. Newcomers here can see fellow neighbors out walking or jogging, walking their dogs, fishing, and enjoying a host of other outdoor activities throughout the year.
