Las Sendas is an upscale residential community in Mesa that is well-known for its luxurious homes and breathtaking scenery. It spans more than 4200 acres and is set against the scenic foothills found in East Mesa. The Mesa Unified School District is one of the best performings in the state. It has an enrollment of just over 63,000 students. The student-to-teacher ratio is 19:1, just above the national average of 16:1.
Likewise, Arizona’s state standardized tests show that 43 percent of the Mesa district’s students are proficient in reading. Forty-seven percent meet the proficiency standards in mathematics. These percentages beat the national averages of 35 and 34 percent, respectively.
The Mesa Unified School District has a graduation rate of 79 percent, just under the national graduation rate of 85 percent. However, the district’s overall ACT score is 26, beating the national average score of 20.6.
Within the state of Arizona itself, the Mesa Unified School District ranks as the 24th best school district out of 115 total districts. It ranks third for being the most diverse in the state and ranks as having the sixth-best athletic program for its students.
