Members to the HOA are elected to their positions with elections being staggered every year. Most members serve two and three-year terms.

The Gold Canyon Golf Resort and Spa offer additional amenities to people who join it. These amenities include an onsite spa that offers a wide variety of services to members. These services include facials, massages and other body and skin treatments.

The Gold Canyon Resort and Spa can also be reserved for special events like weddings and parties. It offers accommodations, including seating and tables and onsite catering, that couples can take advantage of on their special days.

Finally, parents who live in Gold Canyon have a number of well-ranked schools to choose from for their children. Gold Canyon is part of the Apache Junction Unified School District. The district has just over 3300 students enrolled in it and a student-to-teacher ratio of 21:1, which is slightly higher than the 16:1 national average. 

Further, Apache Junction Unified School District ranks as the 51st most diverse school district in the state of Arizona. It ranks 60 out of 115 for having the best quality of sports programs for students who attend school there.

Nationally, the school district achieves a B grade for both college preparation and the quality of its teachers. It gets an A grade for having a diverse student population.

In terms of standardized test proficiency, the Apache Junction Unified School District is on par with the national average. In fact, around 36 percent of its students are proficient in mathematics, which is higher than the national percentage of 34 percent. Thirty three percent of its students are proficient in reading, which is just slightly below the national average of 35 percent.

The school district has a graduation rate of 85 percent. Its average ACT test score is 22.
