Dreamland is an age-restricted community in Mesa that is available to home buyers who are 55 years of age and older. Its development began in 1959 and continued through the 1970s. Today, it is known as Dreamland Villa Retirement Community, having changed its name formally in 2017.

Dreamland is governed by a homeowners association to which residents here pay $175 every year. The HOA fees sustain the existence and operation of the community. It also entitles homeowners in Dreamland to use the community’s numerous amenities and features.

Some of the amenities and features that residents have access to while living in Dreamland include:

  • Three outdoor swimming pools
  • A spa
  • Billiards
  • Courts for bocce, pickleball, and shuffleboard
  • An exercise room
  • Hiking and walking trails

They also have access to community halls that can be reserved and used for celebrations like weddings, anniversary parties, quinceaneras, and birthday parties. The community halls are also used for Dreamland-sponsored events like meetings, pancake breakfasts, arts, and craft shows, dances, and potluck dinners.

To keep residents fit and active, the community holds numerous exercises classes like aquacise and aerobics. Dreamland homeowners can also use facilities like the computer lounge and woodworking shop. There is also a digital library that residents can access on Dreamland’s website.

Dreamland offers primarily single-family homes for sale. The homes are modest in size, with most having two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

However, it is possible to find larger homes with three bedrooms and 2.5 to three bathrooms for sale in Dreamland. Most of the homes have landscaping that consists of natural rocks and stones and very little if any, vegetation.

Home prices in Dreamland begin in the low $200s and average around $225,000 to $250,000. Larger homes can sell for as much as $300,000 in this community.
