Desert Mountain Ranch is a residential community that is located west of I-17 and next to the Phoenix Sonoran Reserve. It is known as the original Norterra neighborhood and encompasses Norterra Parkway. It is just off Dixileta Drive.

It is close to several major shopping centers as well as a number of public parks. It is also 30 miles north of the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

The community has two nearby elementary schools as well as a high school. The community is governed by a homeowners association and was established in 2001.

Real estate insiders note that prices have gone up by as much as four percent and are expected to continue to increase in price over the next few years. The real estate market here is considered to be one of the most in-demand in Phoenix.
