Many Benefits of Golf Course Living

Seeing a rich green carpet of grass set against a desert saguaro dotted mountain background is a sight that many Phoenix area residents enjoy every day. Living on a golf course in Phoenix has so many benefits.

Of course, one of the most exciting aspects of golf course living is the view. Whether you are comfortably seated inside your home or relaxing in your backyard, the view from the back of the property is spectacular.

Spending time gazing at nature will allow you to experience a relaxed feeling. Owning a golf course home is a chance for you to share in nature’s beauty.

Golf course properties are unique. Most homes sit side by side and back to back, confining your space and view. These homes bind you and your view to your own fence edge.

Living on a golf course provides expansive views and breathtaking sights of nature. Lush rolling green fairways edged by cactus sprinkled hilltops give way to dazzling displays of light throughout the day. From the gradual morning glow of the sun rising in the east, to the slow descent of sun giving way to a colorful sunset in the west, the sky’s backdrop is ever changing.

Many types of wildlife also enjoy this environment. On days when golfers haven’thit the course, wildlife will venture out to explore. Desert birds, such as the cactus wren, are seen making nests inside saguaro cactus for protection. Roadrunners can be spotted darting across a sand bunker leaving their delicate tracks behind. A quick glimpse of a white tailed jackrabbit crisscrossing the putting greens to confuse others, who might be trying to follow is a sight to remember. For those who have a good eye, noticing a covey of quail teetering along in straight line down to the lake’s edge for a cool drink is a real treat. Living on a golf course is an opportunity of a lifetime for those who appreciate and want to observe Arizona wildlife.

Cooler temperatures are the norm when living on a golf course. The automatic and predictive light spray of water onto the course creates a lush green grass course. This shower of water also in turn lowers the temperatures in the area. Many times, the temperature close to a golf course can be up to 8 to 9 degrees cooler than areas without a course.

these lower temperatures can often reduce energy costs and provide more opportunities for outdoor living. Residents of a golf course property often spend time outdoors, either relaxing and soaking up the outdoor environment or eating and entertaining others. There are wonderful experiences golf course property residents partake in on a regular basis.

Real Reason for Selecting Golf Course Property

For most golf course residents, the determining factor for selecting a golf course property over any other is the home’s close proximity to a game of golf. Having the ability to walk or even take a very short drive over to the course makes living on a golf course ideal.

Living on a golf course gives residents easy access to playing a round or two of golf. Most golfers find it difficult to squeeze in a round of golf at a moments notice. However, living on a golf course property allows for more golf opportunities. Less time is spent traveling to and from the golf course and more time is given to polishing and perfecting the game.

Meeting individuals, who are interested in golf, as much as you are, is important. Sharing stories, developing golf groups, or tournaments is fun. Golf draws people together. Golf course living provides the environment for you to start experiencing life to the fullest.

Establishing lasting friendships, creating new memories, sharing nature’s beauty, and relaxing in a unique spectacular environment are just some of the reasons people chose a golf course property over any other. Many golfers have found that being just minutes away from a starting tee and taking their swing down the fairway is worth the sometimes additional cost of living on a golf course.

Tee Time Tip:

Deciding whether or not to make reservations for a tee time is usually determined by how many golfers want to play. If you want to play a round by yourself, you can usually get on a course without a reservation. This is especially true, if it is during the week. However, there may be times when the course is busy. During this time, single golfers may be asked to join another group of players. Larger groups of golfers should call ahead and chose a tee time. If you compare reserving a tee time to reserving a table (at a restaurant), you will understand that giving notice of your arrival will be a benefit to you and your group.

Golf Etiquette Tips:

the following are several golf etiquette pointers that should be used whenever you play a round of golf:

Give your opponents their best opportunities to play well by waiting quietly, while they prepare to hit the ball. Don’tstand directly behind an opponent preparing to swing. It’s better to stand to the opponent’s side. Remember that putting (swings/strokes) do not begin, until all players balls are on the putting green. Once this occurs, the player with the ball farthest from the hole begins. Check with the golf course prior to showing up to play a game. Some courses require certain attire in order to play. (This may include soft spikes in your golf shoes.) Double check your golf bag before leaving your vehicle. No more than 14 golf clubs are allowed on a course.

Golf Cart vs. Walking

there are golf courses that require the use of a golf cart, in order to play a round of golf. Golfers at these courses do not have a choice. These courses include an additional fee for rental use of a golf cart. However, not every golf course requires a golf cart. Some courses allow golfers to choose their method of getting around the course. If walking is important to you, call ahead and find out if you are able to walk the course.

Benefits to Walking a Course:

Many golfers have found that walking a golf course has far more benefits compared to riding in a golf cart. The following is a list of some of the advantages to walking a game of golf:

You will receive much more exercise. Walking is good for the body and heart. Golfers who walk find that their muscles are loose and not tight. Loose muscles create better golf swings. You have more time to talk with your golf companions. This makes golf more than just a game. You are better able to appreciate and understand the golf course you are playing. As a walker, you can get a good perspective on how to approach the next hole. The biggest benefit is cost. It is much cheaper to walk compared to renting a golf cart.
