You want to be happy in the golden years of your life. You made it through and it is not time at this time to put a lot of worry and excitement into your life. From its early beginnings the Sun City situation has offered the aged and aging the very, very best in retirement living. Sun City created in 1960, was the country’s finest active adult community. Sun City West sits as one of the crown jewels of Del Webb’s planned developments.
From this early vision of a retirement community in the middle of an otherwise barren desert there has grown this crusty jewel of a retirement community with its solid-gold goods, services, and so much more that is available to you once you move in. Share this vision and move yourself into Sun City today.
Sun City West developers say what was going on in Sun City and knew that there would be more demand for these moderately priced luxury retirement accommodations. Emboldened by the phenomenal success of neighboring Sun City, the developer further tinkered improved upon many of the features and amenities that characterized the earlier community. Sun City West is now home to some 32,000 residents. Sun City West as an active adult retirement community also is age restricted. One resident of each household must be at least 55 years of age with no one under the age of 19 as a full time resident.

Sun City Grand, it’s everywhere that you always wanted to be. It is one of the proudest of Del Webb’s master-planned communities for active adults. The rules make sure that you have to be age 55 or better to be included in this fun. Sun City Grand is a smaller in size than either Sun City or Sun City West- but it’s no skimpier in the good things that it provides to its special residents. In fact, Sun City Grand offers all of the recreational opportunities you’ve come to expect at a Sun City. When y0ou think about it life at Sun City Grand is something like life in a small village. The lazy days spent strolling around the park, the brass band playing in the gazebo and the times we will always remember- like a never ending movie, the picture always playing in our minds. The Village Center is where it all begins. This strategically placed place serves as the recreational focal point of the whole community. And the beauty is all around- forming a pretty ring of happiness; take the Desert Springs and Granite Falls Golf Courses that serve as the visual blue ribbon tying the community together.
The Village Center at Sun City Grand is owned and operated by the Community Association. Its courtyard design, featuring cascading water fountains and lush landscaping, creates the perfect illusion of a stage for socializing, meeting neighbors and attending community festivals, which are certain to be a big part of the rest of your life at Sun City Grand. A key part of the Village Center is the ever popular Sonoran Plaza Social Hall. This grand hall includes an approximately 9,110 square foot ballroom, meeting room and multi-purpose activity rooms.
But the art crowd need not feel left out- and you have not been neglected! This state-of-the-art fitness center includes a heated indoor lap and exercise pool, an outdoor resort pool, indoor spa, indoor walking track, a dance/exercise studio, bocce ball and even some lighted tennis courts.
The first thing you will see when you turn from the highway into Sun City Grand is the green fairways and crystal clear lakes of the Desert Springs and Granite Falls Golf Courses. Both of these courses were designed by PGA Hall-of-Fame Player Billy Casper and nationally renowned golf course architect Greg Nash, so you know that it’s going to be good. So don’t let the beauty of the courses make you think that they are not challenging as well. Both 18-hole championship courses were designed to accommodate players of all skill levels. Multiple tee placements alter the landscape of each hole by adding yardage and often require a more accurate tee shot. Deep, wide greens make it possible to vary the difficulty of pin placement. And those beautiful lakes, all 40 acres of them, come into play again and again. Residents of Sun City Grand are able to play Desert Springs and Granite Falls at reduced daily green fees. Just purchase the annual golf membership. The fee includes private cart trail fee, green fees, eight-day advance tee-time reservations and more.
Sun City Grand offers a location convenient to shopping, medical services and financial institutions. For entertainment, the City of Phoenix offers theaters, dance companies, the Phoenix Symphony and fine art galleries as well as the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, Phoenix Coyotes, and the Arizona Diamondbacks professional sport franchises. Hiking, camping, fishing, and sightseeing at the Grand Canyon are all available at little cost or effort.
What characterizes the Sun City Grand lifestyle most are the residents and the collection of special clubs and organizations which are formed as the community grows. If you are looking for an active adult community for adults 55 and better, Sun City Grand is the only place for you.

CORTE BELLA by Del Webb
When Corte Bella was designed the idea was to build a community that reflected tradition. The reserved mission style architecture was inspired by homes in Santa Barbara, California. As Arizona’s first age-restricted, gated, country club community the thoughtful landscaping gives the community a different look so that seniors seeking an active, quiet lifestyle can live in peaceful surroundings.
The 717 acres are planned to feature a total of 1850 beautiful homes upon completion of the development. The community is located on Maricopa County land off Deer Valley and El Mirage roads. There is easy access to Bell Road, Loop 101 and 303. At 717 acres, the community will be more focused than any of the other Sun Cities, keeping with the Del Webb vision of a cozy, intimate Country Club atmosphere.
Among the country club amenities offered are the Greg Nash designed 18-hole championship golf course, exclusive Clubhouse, and a Fitness Club that offers everything from aerobics and weight training to tennis and swimming. The Fitness Club even offers facials and massages to community residents upon request. An Activities Director is available on-site to organize and supervise outside activities and trips.
Corte Bella is a country club is a casual setting where members rub shoulders frequently and informally. At the Social Club, you can meet friends and acquaintances for casual dining or leisurely get-togethers. Arizona Traditions

If you are in the shadows of the White Tank Mountains then you are in Traditions. Traditions is a golf and country club community built by the highly respected Continental Homes construction group. In fact, you will be surprised to learn that Traditions is built on property that has been used for three of the most important industries in Arizona’s history. Even if you are not from Arizona you probably have a pretty good idea of what at least some of these industries are. Think about it, Arizona is in the middle of land cleverly reclaimed from barren desert land. There is water, but not a lot; so that there can be growing- but in selected areas carefully created for this purpose. O.K., what were your guesses Well the answers are: ranching, agriculture, and water delivery. This may not be the order, because these things can change over time but they are still important industries in Arizona, know as the Copper State for all the copper mining that was, and still is, done here. And tourism is a big reason for the state’s wealth, too. But those are the answers.
This history is evident the moment you drive into this community. Just look at the wonderful golf clubhouse made to look just like a local cotton gin. Also take a look at the golf splendid course with its old fashioned designed that lets you reel in those years gone by with all their faded glory.
Then there’s your own grand ballroom located at the community center would rival many of the dance halls of the misty past- you can just hear that band playing and see the people dancing their evenings away!
If you really like golf a lot then you will just love the par-70 golf course that they have. Dick Bailey designed golf course with its gently rolling terrain and lovely pine trees lining the fairways to be as fun to walk as to play. The course was designed in the traditional parkland style of older courses where fairways are adjacent to each other instead of having homes on both sides. When you’re done you can fill-up and chat golf in the splendid and spacious clubhouse. They not only feature a full service wet bar, they serve some wonderful dishes their as well. So to relax with a cold refreshment or food from the outdoor grill you must include a visit to the clubhouse in your golfing adventures. And there are special advantages to Tradition residents. You have an edge over everybody else because Arizona Traditions residents are offered discounted golf fees and have a minimum of one-day priority for tee time reservations over members of the general public.
But golf isn’t all that you can do at Traditions and there are a number of other activities to choose from. A couple of sets of tennis, anyone Then there’s the leisure and excitement of horseshoes, and pickleball- if you have the steady nerves and solid skill that it takes!.
The private community center, with over 24,000 square feet of fun and entertainment – all under one large roof, offers residents a wealth of social, educational, and athletic activities. There is a full time certified activities director and qualified professional training staff to assist you in subtle arts of woodworking, ceramics, sewing, stained glass painting, cooking, dancing, and even a series of computer classes.
And that’s not the half of it because you will also find a library, classroom, ballroom, card and social room, locker rooms, pool, spa, steam rooms, and tennis courts. There are regularly held activities staged in that grand ballroom. There is probably no better way to meet neighbors and make friends than to go to these events. You can also spend your time relaxing by the new swimming pool. Another great place to spend your free time is or meeting friends in the exciting and well staffed and appointed sports bar to watch your favorite sporting events on the large screen television they have there.
For the fitness buffs Arizona Traditions also offers the only fitness center sponsored by the Arizona Heart Institute. The facility sports the best fitness equipment and professionally staffed training programs to be found in the area. There are gatherings held throughout the year here where clinical doctors, certified and experienced nutritionists and other health and welfare speakers offer special programs, seminars, and even an annual health fair, so that residents know what to do to keep their motors running strong today and in the future.
Continental Homes offers flexible floor plans with such features as whirlpool tubs, built-in television alcoves, hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings and granite countertops. There are 10 different floor plans for you to decide on ranging in price from $190s to the $280s.
Other additions include an expanded design center and seven serene water features, which promote a calming and restful. Arizona Traditions people are friendly people. You should join them and be a Traditions person, too!
Sun City, Arizona

Sun City is the first. It is the place where retirement under the sun got its start. Sun City is all by itself, a little self-contained world with its own shopping centers and restaurants offering you a wide variety of stores and services. And best of all, you don’t have to deal with all the hustle and bustle of life on the outside Security, street repair, zoning protection and many other key community services are provided publicly by Maricopa County since this community is actually unincorporated at present and relies upon the county essential guidance and services. But think about it, what better protection could you ask for than the police And who better to plan what will happen to the community in the future than duly elected public officials who are sworn to uphold your trust! Fire protection is provided by the Sun City Fire District.
Now to the good stuff! Eleven golf courses, including three country clubs, and seven recreation centers in Sun City bless this retirement haven with swimming, tennis, bowling and countless other activities. Believe it or not there is some water that can be found in what is naturally an arid desert climate! The Lakeview Recreation Center even has a lake for fishing and limited boating.
Volunteers are a mainstay in Sun City and the community is known as the City of Volunteers. This means you get the best for less. No disinterested high-profile but unresponsive elected officials meddling in your menial day-to-day affairs. In this area it is probably in your best interest to have your neighbors, people just like yourself, deciding what you can and cannot do on an ordinary basis.
Take the Sun City PRIDES for instance. It is a non-profit corporation which assists Maricopa County in keeping Sun City clean. The organization mobilizes the gathering of time and money to keep your area clean. A mechanism like this is so important today; because if you don’tdo it- who will
Security is always number one. No body wants to ever have to face the threat of burglary or robbery on their own and it is of vital importance that paid professional who are aware of the problems in the area and who are trained to deal with the problems in these areas be ready, willing, and able to do what it is they have to do.
No doubt about it! Police protection is provided by the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, along with the members of the Sheriff’s Posse of Sun City. You posse is a group of dedicated and motivated men and women from your very own community who volunteer their services 24 hours a day. This means that your first ring of protection is as close as a phone call to a neighbor away! The Posse’s primary objective is to prevent crime through neighborhood patrols. They get together and schedule patrols and that is how they do it.
A number of civic organizations, too numerous to mention here, have generously offered to assume the responsibility of keeping an eye over issues that affect the community. Just take a look at the list that follows and you ll see more reasons why Sun City is YOUR place to be!
The Recreation Centers of Sun City, Inc., a private corporation, is responsible for recreational amenities in Sun City; the Sun City Home Owners Association works with county and state agencies on such issues as zoning and transportation; the Sun City Taxpayers Association keeps a close watch on such issues as taxes and utility rates. The Sun City Visitors Center at 99th Avenue and Bell Road, which offers prospective residents brochures and other helpful information, is operated by the Sun City Ambassadors, a non-profit corporation made up of volunteers.
