Tombstone Arizona

Tombstone is in Southern Arizona . It is in Cochise County. It lies in the desert hills between the San Pedro Valley on the west and the Dragoon Mountains on the north and east. The town is located on State Highway 80 between Benson and Bisbee. It is approximately a two and a half hour drive from Phoenix.
You can get to Tombstone from Phoenix by heading south on Interstate 10 and continue on into Tucson. You will travel on Interstate 10 to the east, until you come to Benson where you will head south on State Highway 80 on to Tombstone.
Tombstone is the perfect place to stay and learn about the old west. It is centrally located for great day trips. Tombstone began a mining town and has grown to a popular old west town full of history. Tombstone is “The Town Too Tough To Die.” Today Tombstone has a population of 1,500. It sits at an elevation of 4,540 feet. The mild year-round climate and low humidity makes it an ideal place to stay all year round. The low temperatures in the winter are near 40 degrees and the summer high temperature is 98 degrees. The entire town is a living history museum that is best enjoyed on foot. There are so many exciting things to do in Tombstone.
There are several unique attractions in Tombstone that will add spice to your visit. The Rose Tree Inn Museum is an amazing sight. It is estimated that the world’s largest rosebush is located here, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. It is large, I mean really large. You will have to see it, to believe it. The Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park was built to bring stability to a rowdy time in Tombstone’s history.
