ASU

I am a current sophomore at Arizona State University. I am currently studying Engineering/Industrial Management. I am the first, from a family of five to attend a university. I was born and raised in San Diego, California in which I graduated from Patrick Henry High School. I take personal interest in becoming involved within my community. I am a current member and former executive board member of the San Diego Fourth District Youth Advisory Board as well as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. I am also a member of a few organizations at the Arizona State University, which include, Black Business Student Association and the African American Men of Arizona State University.

 

Since I am not a resident of Arizona, I would select the city of Phoenix, Arizona to call my new home. The city of Phoenix has a great deal of history behind it. Phoenix is currently “the 7th largest city in the U.S. today” and is the fastest growing city in the nation. The local attractions and business as well as the people makes it that more appealing.

 

Phoenix also has newly developed structures and landscaping which make the city have a modern metro affect to the city. Much of the interstate highways are new, maintained and very effective, which allows maximum flow of traffic throughout the city and day. The nice year round weather make Phoenix stand out as well. All of these features make the college experience that much more enjoyable because every thing is accessible and effective, as well as enjoyable.

 

Phoenix is also a fairly close city to my hometown. Much of the Arizona climate is similar to southern California. The year around exposure of sun and the combination of water makes a smooth transaction to climate change. These related regions also make it easier for someone to adjust.

 

With the rich city history of Phoenix and the local attractions as well as the California related region causes it to be my choice of city’s to live in, as well as become apart of. This is why I selected Phoenix as a new town that I will call home.
