Arizona Scenery

Arizona has always been my home. I have traveled to other states and even another country but Arizona etched her mark on my heart. Arizona is a place where people can go and discover things that some have only read. In my state, I can live them. My state has one of the natural wonders of the world, which I have had the privilege to see in different seasons. Winter, blanketed with snow and cool, crisp air whistling around my feet. Summer, where the suns rays plays tricks on the rocks of the canyon, changing its color ever so slightly from one moment to the next as I find myself saying wow. If you have ever been to the Grand Canyon you would know “Wow” is an appropriate word.
Arizona has tall trees and sky slopes a few hours drive from the sand dunes of the desert. The Painted Desert and Petrified Forest also calls Arizona home. The vastness of these places gives a feeling that we are just a speck in the universe. Meteor Crater is in my state; a hole in the ground with a huge story of what if it happened now? All of these are a day trip away. Kitchener’s Caverns were discovered in the southern part of Arizona; where I watched the warm cave, humid and silent, grow one drop at a time and I was in awe of its beauty. Picacho Peak is the farthest west that a civil war battle was fought and I was there. The enormity of the peak can only be felt when looking up at it inside the park itself. Purple mountains really mean something when I take a road trip up north for the day.
Arizona has many Indian tribes that share in the state’s beauty and its feel. The feel of the old west and how I see the Indians making their wares to sale at the local swap meet. Some say the red rocks of Sedona have a spiritual feel to them. I can say they do. I have been there. I found myself questioning the reason for being.
All of this, and especially the diversity of my fellow Arizonians, really is what make Arizona my hometown. With all the different races and faces that make-up Arizona, we all share one common thread, we all are blessed to be able to call Arizona my hometown. Come visit us sometime, I’ll show you around!
